Achtung Baby!

After a quick breakfast and coffee at the nunnery with Sylvia (thanks for feeding us!) we were off to the Bavarian Alps. We stayed in the touristy village of Fussen and headed to check out the famous castles of King Ludwig II. We went on a tour of his fairy tale castle, Neuschwanstein, that he built as an homage to his "friend", the composer Wagner. Every room represented a different Wagner opera.....lovers in a dangerous time? (It was actually never implied that they were more than friends, but I just assume everyone is gay. Also, I initially spelled "opera" as "oprah"....yeah, don't worry, I am equally disgusted at myself! Also ignore all spelling/grammatical errors!)

We did a crazy amount of walking and at the end of the day I made Jen and her poor feet walk 1.5km (one way, so 3 in total) to get 1 Euro (sorry, 1.10 to be specific) veggie burgers from McDonalds....the worst part was that it was very disappointing, but Jen enjoyed hers.

On our hike back to Fussen...it was a long one.
