Sylvia showed us around her stomping ground and Munich. In Augsburg we checked out the oldest social housing complex in zie world, the Fuggerei. People still live there for 0.88 Euros per year! It tugged at my socialist heart strings. Jen and I took Sylvia to her first Starbucks in Munich, or Munchen as zie Deutsch call it. She was disgusted by our American portions, and could not fathom the idea of someone consuming a whole Venti coffee. I was disgusted by the presence of Starbucks everywhere and how they looked exactly like the ones back home.
I'm undecided on Munich. I didn't fall in love with the city, but I was also a sleep deprived walking zombie that day. I have to give credit to Sylvia, who was energetic and bubbly even when she was falling asleep post-coffee.
Jen, Sylvia and I had a three-way date rowing in Augsburg.
The Fuggerei may be 0.88 Euro a year, but you must pray for the souls of the Fuggers daily, and if you show up late (past 11 pm, I believe), you have to pay - get this - a year's rent (the approximate price of a Ritter Sport, I do believe).
